This is the culmination of a full year&#8217;s worth of Saturday SMGA Saturday Event competitions. The weather was typical Arizona weather on Friday but rained during most of the second day of competition. The second day&#8217;s scores and soggy players reflected the difficult playing conditions, with only two players shooting below their handicaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulations to <strong>Eric Wagner<\/strong> for winning the SMGA 2022 Player of the Year Tournament with a net two-day score of 143!  <strong>Chris Bretz<\/strong> and <strong>Bill Linck<\/strong> were both two strokes back at 145 for a second place tie.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two other honors that are earned from the year&#8217;s competition are the Point&#8217;s Leader and the Ironman awards. <strong>Jason Kujanson was Points Leader<\/strong> &#8211; Awarded to the member that earned the most points during the season. <strong>Rick Wagner was Iron Man<\/strong> \u2013 Awarded to the member who played the most POTY events during the season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The top 40 SMGA point leaders competed in the two-day net competition on Friday and Saturday 12-2 and 12-3 to determine the POTY Champion.
